Morgan Smith

Morgan earned his degree from Columbia College, Columbia University in addition to the Mannes College of Music. In New York City he was chosen to be an Seattle Opera "young artist" (1999-2000). The singer made his professional debut at Seattle Opera in 2001 in Billy Budd. A great favorite to perform in Seattle Mr. Smith has performed roles in a dozen other operas since his debut, including Count Alamaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni (title role), Silvio in I Pagliacci, Riccardo in I Puritani and Peter Niles in Mourning Becomes an Electra. Smith is an a frequent performer on stage for concert performances. Smith made the Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion and as part of The San Antonio Symphony at the North American premiere for Detlef Glanert's orchestral version of Brahms famous cycle Vier Praludien Und Ernste Gesange. Other concert repertoire includes Beethoven's Ninth Symphony; the Requiems composed by Brahms, Faure, Mozart and Durufle; Mass in C Minor of Mozart as well as the Mass with G Minor composed by Vaughan Williams; Bach's B Minor Mass Numerous Cantatas, and Weihnachts Oratorium; Handel's Messiah as well as L'Allegro il Penseroso ed il Moderato; and Haydn's The Creation and Lord Nelson Mass.
